The Diabetes Virtual Camp is back with our Summer 2022 program slated to begin next Monday, July 18th and end on July 30th.
The Diabetes Virtual Summer Camp 2022 is a virtual research internship program that invites high school, college, graduate, and professional students interested in learning about biomedical research and academic medicine with a focus on diabetes research, education, and care.
Over the past 4 virtual programs and partnering with the American Diabetes Association, more than 1,500 students, including 791 underrepresented minorities, from 33 countries and 45 states in the U.S., representing 315 colleges around the world, have participated in our free Zoom-based sessions to support the next generation of physicians and scientists. Many of our students also have diabetes or live with family members with diabetes, and our program has inspired them to better care for themselves as well as those around them.
The program consists of 14 Zoom sessions highlighting current topics on diabetes research and treatment as well as an academic career path in medicine and science. The sessions are led by 10 renowned diabetes scientists and clinicians from reputable universities, who will share their exciting research programs. This program is free to all registered attendees with a suggested donation, and your generous contributions will be donated to the American Diabetes Association to support diabetes research, education, and care. All registered attendees must participate in the entire 2-week program and will receive a certificate upon completing this virtual internship program.
