We are looking forward to a great discussion on diabetes, exercise and Covid -19 this evening
People with diabetes are experiencing excess ICU admission and mortality when admitted to the hospital with Covid-19.
Individuals with poor glycemic control, increased weight and hypertension are at the highest risk for poor outcomes.
One of the fundamental strategies to assist PWD in optimal glucose and BP control and prevention of weight gain is routine physical activity and limiting sedentary time. The Covid-19 epidemic has created barriers to physical activity and increased environmental constraints leading to increased sedentary time.
Tonight the leadership team for the Exercise Interest Group will discuss challenges posed by the pandemic and strategies improve fitness in the Covid 19 era.
Please join us and bring you ideas and questions!
