This is a brief synopsis from Circulation on the current knowledge base for COVID-19 and myocardial injury/cardiovascular disease. As has been well-covered by ADA, maintenance of appropriate glycemic control is vital for COVID-19 patients (and all patients in general). COVID-19 may also present a unique cardiovascular challenge for persons with diabetes (given the increased risk for cardiovascular disease associated with diabetes). If anyone has knowledge or experience of/with this scenario, please let us know so we can learn more and provide better care for such patients!
